When Passion, Vision, and Purpose Meet, Amazing Things Happen.
After 20 years of running pubs and working in the hospitality sector, Sean (the real-life Sam Malone) had a dream of one day pulling beer off the back of an old flatbed vintage truck. Having been out of the hospitality sector for a good 20 years running his own transport business, he yearned to create a business that simply puts smiles on the faces of many and gets him back behind the bar. He sketched drawings of what he had envisioned that stayed in his sketch book for years, before pulling them back out and deciding to bring them to life in 2022. Combining Sean’s hospitality and transport skills learnt over many years and his partner (Melissa’s) marketing and business skills, The Brew Truck was born.
First Task: Locate the Perfect Truck.
After starting with an old 1940’s Austin Loadstar, it was quickly discovered that this vehicle just wasn’t going to cut it. Although full of character and charm, it simply wasn’t able to deliver quite the punch required. So she was sold and moved onto greener pastures. Then came along The Ford F-600. It had a wow factor and amazing presence from the get go. It was purchased from a truck enthusiast in Coldstream, just outside of Melbourne and one cold and wintery day, Sean picked it up and drove it down to her new home in Mornington. There was lots of work to do however to transform it into the Ruby-Lee we know today.
Spending many hours and months with engaging in enthusiastic specialised experts (one could say super excited blokes who happen to be experts in their trade) the truck was custom fitted to Sean’s bespoke specifications including the flat bed side benches and brackets, 8 x custom wine barrels, 8 tap beer system installed with twin chiller, lighting & electric fit-out and all-weather awnings along with The Brew Truck branding and a spiffy cut and polish. Finally ready to party, Ruby-Lee is here to delight and entertain all of those who interact with her, and one that Sean and Melissa, along with their family and friends are super proud to call their own.
